Dear Veterans, my Brothers and Sisters in Christ,
This journey of ours can only be understood by those who have lived it. So many people in America take for granted the rights that we paved for them. It's difficult for those not exposed to our horrors to comprehend the impact it has had both personally and on our families. For survival, and for the desire to associate with those who truly understand the loneliness of our journey, we strive to reconnect with our comrades of war. It is a place of peace and acceptance and it is a safe place to talk about the dreams that never leave. This is healthy, and it is good. I look forward to our reunions and organized celebrations where we are able to respectfully honor and yet mourn the loss of so many brave and heroic Soldiers. And, then, there are times when we are left alone with our own demons. You know the ones. They reside in the dark places of our mind and spirit. Their sole purpose is to incite fear, anxiety, and force us to relive those experiences we all wish we could forget. This is a time of extreme loneliness, a time when no human being can stand by your side. No, our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms. The concept of this reality is not easily understood. It would be my honor to explain this wonderful truth to you so you also will have the power and strength and authority within you to fight the battle in the spiritual realm. This knowledge will change your life forever. I promise you this, if you take this truth to heart, you will receive a gift of spiritual peace beyond your own understanding. I look forward to speaking with you personally. God Bless our Veterans! Pastor Ted |
